I’m thinking of changing my icon - it’d be nothing drastic, but I’m playing with the idea of using tumblr’s background blue to make my icon look circular. (Also it’d make Maul’s whole head visible, albeit a little less detailed).
Which do you think looks better, the version above or the version below? ^^;
One of my favourite things is to make little silly drawings of Palpatine being a moderately good parent to young Maul. It just makes me really happy and it’s legitimately relaxing and enjoyable, and so on.
This is true right up to the moment I have to draw Maul’s tattoo markings, after that it’s internal screaming all the way to the end. I have got to find a way to make that bit easier for me.
Anyway, I would most of all love to make a big enough set of Papa Palpatine™ doodles and comics and stuff to make a pdf collection similar in theme to the books Darth Vader and Son or Vader’s Little Princess. ‘Palpatine’s Tiny Apprentice’, possibly?
(Forgive the random rambling.)
They were going to make a story arc on The Clone Wars titled Crystal Crises on Utapau: you can see concept art for it here and the unfinished story reel can be viewed by starting here!
I love that it was going to include a female Pau’an - a police inspector named Jen June. Bonus points for Jedi Master Deepa Billaba and for really cool-looking backgrounds. Also… pterodactyl aliens!
Featured concept art is by Hyunwoo Lim, Amy Beth Christenson, Pat Presley and J.P. Balmet.
Work in progress, portrait of the Neimoidian Zill Kartay.
I’m trying to make an acrylic painting for the first time, today is the birthday of my friend neimoidiansandduros! I obviously still need to work on it a lot, but I need to show her a little something at least. :)
Have you ever drawn Cosinga Palpatine? Because, if not, you should!
I’ve never actually drawn him so here you go, thanks for the suggestion!
Cosinga Palpatine and the young human who is his eldest son (much to the distaste of both of them).
...you know you're making me want to HUG ALL THE SITH, possibly even more than I normally do?
Aww thank you, I’m so glad! ❤ Because yeah I did actually hear that Sith are big fans of hugs…
This is what my sketches look like before I scan them. I generally use one piece of A4 paper for between 2 to 4 drawings and additionally jot down ideas and to-do lists on the margins.
Now I have a tiny cute Darth Maul notebook, thanks to emperorshand! I am using it as my ‘official’ update list. It is full of Sith nonsense.
Finally Subway got these bags today and i bought all they had. They are 1.00 each!! They also come with these trading cards.
This is really random but I’d be happy to make a full, detailed illustration commission for anyone in exchange for the Inquisitor-theme bag and card…
(In case anyone out there is interested you can note me here or on firstname.lastname@example.org)
Yoah! Reaching 400 followers called for a milestone celebration sketch…
Thank you all for following!
The Character Wardrobe Meme: Darth Tenebrous + swimwear
Swamp mission diving geared Bith Sith!
The scribbles all over him are his esoteric tattoo markings as mentioned in the Darth Plagueis book
(although I just used ancient sith and dathomiri witch symbols that I found on wookieepedia).

The Secret Life of Plagueis in Star Wars Extreme Sports
”Comparing the spindly infantry droid to the black-bodied super battle droid was like comparing a Muun to a champion shock-ball player.”
James Luceno, page 29 of Labyrinth of Evil (2005)
”From that angle Plagueis looked almost as he had when Sidious first met him, decades earlier: smooth, hairless cranium; humped nose, with its bridge flattened as if from a shock-ball blow and its sharp tip pressed almost to his upper lip; jutting lower jaw; sunken eyes still brimming with menace - a physical characteristic rarely encountered in a Muun.”
James Luceno, page 4 of Darth Plagueis (2011)
I will forever be dying at this.
Quick ink pen + digital colours. Padmé translates to lotus in Sanskrit.
I’ve also read that the words ‘pad me' are used in a specific Buddhist mantra which helps enlightenment towards compassion.
Pad me is the part of the chant which purifies ignorance and prejudice, greed and possessiveness. The colours associated with pad me are red and blue.
It is interesting to think about how well these meanings fit Padmé Amidala’s character, as well as her roles towards other characters and the storyline of Star Wars.
I’ll be away from Wednesday to Sunday on a seaside break - I’m feeling inspired to do a Summer Sith™ set of vacation snapshot styled doodles when I get back.
Any ideas for the kind of summer or beach activities that’d be fun/relevant to choose for Palpatine, Maul, Plagueis, Dooku, Asajj, Vader, etc.?
I’ve been making really quick ink pen pictures of SW characters and adding simple colours on them. These are the first sketches I did!
PSA: I love everything about Naboo and I love Star Wars politicians. That is all.
